Potato Gun

My friend Jack and I cooked up this little ditty. Still not perfect, but oh well.

This is a personal project that I finally finished up. I did it using Houdini and Nuke.

Dreamgiver Magic WIP

Theses are two shots in the film. The first one is done, and the second one is almost there. Just need to add the blast that happens from off screen.

For Murphy

Enjoy this little WIP.

Still needs some work. Hopefully I'll have something finished in the next week or so.

inky pinky

This is an ink in water type of thingy. The ink is pouring out of nothing, but I think the effect came together OK.

Used Houdini to sim a low res fluid, then advected about 1.1 million particles per pass. Had around 25 passes, brought those in through delayed load render and comped them together. If my math is right, that is around 27.5 million particles in total.

REDO

I never was quite fully satisfied with the way this came out the first time. So I basically redid the whole thing.

New fracture, new fluids, new particles.

Sheriff Title WIP

This is a work in progress, but it is coming along. Eventually there will be a bird that flies into the scene, lands on the letters, when some dude tries to shoot the bird. Obviously he misses (or does he?), hitting the letters. You'll have to stay tuned to find out whether or not the bird gets it in the end.

I sim-ed out the bullet holes with dust and debris in Houdini using my custom tool. I brought the sim-ed files into Maya and rendered with Prman, (the dust was rendered as a separate layer using Mantra). I composited it in After Effects and added some additional cracks and breaks. Feedback is always appreciated.

Bullet Tool test render

I made this tool in Houdini for procedural bullet holes. Rendered with Mantra, composited in After Effects.
